Harvestsong

Harvestsong is a delightful harvest festival, with plenty of readings for the whole class. It also includes a presentation called Harvests around the world, and a short interactive 'quiz' with the audience to name some exotic fruits and vegetables.

A poignant song 'Somewhere in the world' reminds us of children less fortunate than ours; 'Alphabet Harvest' is a catchy song with a produce for every letter of the alphabet; 'The thank-you song' makes an uplifting start for the festival; 'Harvestsong' is great fun to sing, with echoes, claps and optional two-part harmonies; and 'Shoo-wop de-waddy-waddy' is a rousing finale, with actions and hand-jives.

Your own material can be mixed in, and there are suggestions to simplify the musical for younger children. Or the songs can be used individually in autumn assemblies. All this makes Harvestsong an invaluably versatile harvest collection.
